From my childhood and youth also, I used to be the center of attraction among all my friends, relatives and teacher. I was a dutiful son of my parents as well as acquainted with the very goal of my life. But, there are ups and down in the life of every human beings. Unfortunately, I plunged into the area of addiction. Little by little my health was deteriorating and every one around me was sue about my ensuing death, But, due to the God's grace, I found the right path of survival in the form of "Disha Foundation, Silchar" My wife has taken a great leap in the dark, when she decided to take me to "Disha Foundation" . But due to her this bold decision, now I have become a man of thousand. Now it's almost seven years since then, that I have been leading a normal life with zero-addiction.

I shall ever grateful to my wife and "Disha Foundation" who enabled me to explore me a new meaning of life. I must confess that the counselor of "Disha Foundation" has a bird's eye view. He doesn't hesitate to call a spade a spade. The counseling provided herein was of immense help to me to come off from my habit of addiction. I gained my ground by following the classes regularly and my firm conviction of achieving perfection.

My wife and rehabilitation centre was for me the replica of the God. It was only due to their collaborative effort that I was able to rectum from the think and thin of my life.

I would also like to emphasize on the value of having complete faith and devotion to the God. By having three qualities only one can follow the spiritual programme of the centre sincerely. One who believe in the God can heighten his lowered self-esteem and it would be a great help to anyone in long run.

I have been an ardent follower of the spiritual programmes of rehabilitation centre and I have a firm conviction that any addicted person who follows their instruction of retrieval with complete dedication, keeping in mind God's will, will surely lead a normal life with delight

It's an irony of fate; I plunged into the sea of addiction. My life-boat was about to capsize in this infinite sea of addiction. My family members, my kith and kin, everybody around me in the society were sure about my ensuing death because I was recognised as an addicted person. As a result, everybody started maintaining a distance from me, even my children too.

It might be the blessings of Almighty; I found at last the right path of survival in the form of DISHA FOUNDATION. I shall be ever grateful to my wife who boarded me on the vessel of survival named DISHA FOUNDATION against all perpetual obstacles. It's now almost five years since then, I have been leading a normal life with zero addiction.

Nobody believes in "Rebirth" but I do. From the very day of admission into this Rehabilitation Centre, I realised my existence bit by bit and it started growing gradually in my mind that I could also lead a normal life with zero addiction with the help of their Counseling.

Thanks to my wife and also ever grateful to this Rehabilitation Centre who were supposed to be a replica of Almighty to me. Without their endeavor, it was quite impossible for me to come back. In addition, it's very important to dedicate yourself completely to God and to bank upon all their promrammes. I carried out all their suggestion in toto. As a result, I am now leading a normal life and my firm conviction is that any addicted person who follows their path of retrieval by dedicating himself/herself completely to God then that person can also lead a normal life with delight.


In conclusion, I would recall the famous lines of Rabindranath Tagore that

I am Partha... sorry, it's a mistake! I am Neshari (addict) Partha. Today I am really excited to write something about my life.

I am writing few of my experiences in life - I was very much admirable to my Grandmother, parents, relatives and my well- wishers. Suddenly a horrific eclipse started guzzles me. I became the victim of world's second deadly disease. I slipped out of the mainstream of life. When I was physically, mentally, spiritually, financially and socially distressed then suddenly the attention of loving God fell on me. With his blessings I got the path to take me out of such deadly syndrome. With the help of his referred messenger and the well-wisher relatives I had recourse to a rehabilitation center named DISHA FOUNDATION. With the cooperation of DISHA FOUNDATION's N.A programme and the help of its member and after all with the blessings of almighty God I am enjoying addiction-free life since 3 years. With the help of their training and support now I am working in a non-government institution with reputation.

আমি অলকানন্দা চক্রবর্তী, সঞ্জু চক্রবর্তীর নেশার জগতের গত পঁচিশ বছর এবং নেশাবিহীন জগতের কিছুটা তুলে ধরছি।

DISHA FOUNDATION, SILCHAR-এ treatment এর আগের পরিস্থিতি অর্থাৎ নেশারী জীবনঃ- নেশার কাল সুদীর্ঘ ২৫ বছর। জীবন মানে কি এ সম্বন্ধে কিছুই জানত না। কলেজ জীবন থেকেই অন্ধকার জীবন শুরু হয়, যাকে বলে অভিশপ্ত জীবন। তারপর ধীরে ধীরে তা চুড়ান্ত পর্যায়ে গেল। এই নেশার কাছে টাকা পয়সা কোন কিছুরই মানে নেই। জীবনে একটাই শব্দ "নেশা"... যার জন্য যা কিছু করতে হবে করব। বেপরোয়া জীবন যাপন। নেশারী মানুষের চরিত্রটা এমন বিচিত্র যা বলে বোঝানো যায় না। সব সময় ঝগড়া ঝাটি, হুলুস্থুল, যেন এক রনক্ষেত্র। নেশার জন্য নিজেকে বা কোনকিছুকে বিসর্জন দিতে দ্বিধা নেই। নেশার গোলাম হয়ে গেল সমস্ত শরীর, নেশা না করলে শরীর ঘামছে, শরীর কাঁপছে, বমি করছে... কি যে দৃশ্য! চোখে দেখা যায় না ও বলে শেষ করা যায় না। আমি এখন বলছি কিন্তু তখন মনে ভীষণ কষ্ট হতো। ও যেনো নেশা করতে পারলে বাঁচে। মানুষ যেমন অসুখ হলে ঔষধ চায়, ও অসুস্থ হলে নেশা চাইত।

আমরা জানি প্রত্যেক নেশারী মানুষই একজন রোগী, তাই তাদের চিকিৎসার দরকার। আজকাল অনেক rehabilitation সেন্টার আছে, আমরাও সেরকম একটি সেন্টারে যাই নাম Disha Foundation, Silchar। এই সেন্টারের কাউন্সিলর জয়দীপ চৌধুরী ওকে সমঝে নিলেন। ওখানে এক বছর চিকিৎসার পর ও পুরোপুরি সুস্থ হয়ে গেল।

তারপর ওখান থেকে বের হয়ে আর এক নতুন জীবন শুরু হল। যাকে বলে আলোর জগৎ! পুরো উল্টো মানুষ হয়ে গেল। কথাবার্তা, চাল-চলন, ব্যবহার সব কিছুই যেন আলাদা। টাকা-পয়সা, সংসার, সমাজ সব কিছুরই আলাদা মর্যাদা হয়ে গেল। সমাজে যারা আগে ওকে এঁড়িয়ে চলত, কথা বলত না, তারা আজ যেঁচে কথা বলছে, সামাজিক কাজে ডেকে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে... জীবনে মানুষটা যে এত সম্মান পাবে তা ভাবা যায় না।

ভগবান যেন এক বছরে এই দুঃসহ জীবনের সবকিছু ফিরিয়ে দিলেন। এখন খুউ...ব ভাল চলছে। লিখলে আরো অনেক কিছু লিখা যায় কিন্তু তা শেষ হবে না।
তাই সবার শেষে আমি একটা কথাই বলতে চাই যে, ভগবান পথ দেখিয়েছেন, আর উনার representative হলেন Disha-র কাউন্সিলর। আর আমি সবার শেষে একটা কথা বলছি যে, সবার আশির্বাদ নিয়ে সঞ্জু নিজে অস্বাভাবিক চেষ্টা, ইচ্ছা, অনুভব ইত্যাদি কাজে লাগিয়ে আজকের দিনটা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে, ভগবান যেন ওকে প্রচুর মানসিক শক্তি দেন এইভাবে চালিয়ে নেওয়ার জন্য।

In recent years, Drug addiction has significantly increased in our country as well as in the world. This agent of Human devastation has spread its tentacles worldwide and also in our country.
When I was in addiction, I feel that the period was my golden period, but when escape from this I understand that what I lost my valuable times of my Golden Life.
After rehabilitation, I discover those period was not only miserable for my life but also destroy my all potential activities of my life.
However, I could survive by admitting at Disha Foundation, Silchar Centre and myself fully engaged with all sorts of responsible works at my home as well as in outside.

I convey my thanks to the �Disha Foundation� to rehabilitate me a �New Life� of the Golden Earth
